1. Commissioning Engineered Building Systems: Scope Enhancement

2. Canadian Building Wins ASHRAE Technology Award
The first commercial building in Quebec designed to meet Canada’s standards for high-performance building through integrated design was awarded ASHRAE’s Award of Engineering Excellence earlier this year. Go to story

3. Penn State Researches IAQ in Government Buildings
Research to improve indoor air quality in government buildings, among other projects, has recently been funded by ASHRAE. Twelve students have been approved to receive a total of $100,000 through ASHRAE’s grants-in-aid program. Results from the projects may be incorporated in the ASHRAE Handbook. Go to story

4. A Hilton in Florida Goes with Proprietary HVAC Design
A new 72-room Hilton on St. Augustine, Fla.’s historic bayfront is the first mid-rise Hilton to be fitted with a proprietary environmental HVAC system using plastic heat exchangers. The new system is expected to operate with utility costs 50% below the standard systems installed in other mid-rise hotels, with a return on investment in less than two years. Go to story
