Fan Coil UVC Kit by Steril-Aire
Fan coil UVC kit contains all the components needed to retrofit fan coils with germicidal lights that produce ultraviolet radiation in the “C” band—200 to 280 nanometers. Fan coils have been identified as a primary source of mold and other indoor air quality problems. Many are currently equipped with low-efficiency filters that do not capture infectious disease particulates or mold. Another problem is that many of the UVC devices on the market are not sized to fit fan coils. This kit is available in a choice of six lengths and attachment accessories. Frictionless Centrifugal Compressor

Frictionless centrifugal chiller eliminates the high friction and maintenance-intensive oil management associated with oil-lubricated compressor bearings by using an oil-free magnetic-bearing compressor. The frictionless compressors offer increased efficiency with decreased operating noise. Part-load performance is as low as 0.375 kW/ton IPLV with integral variable-speed drives. The full-load performance is as low as 0.62 kW/ton. Dual compressors on a single refrigerant circuit add further to the part-load efficiency.
As for noise, the compressor has sound-pressure ratings as low as 77dBA per ASHRAE Standard 575, and the chiller itself features a direct-drive design that eliminates gear noise. The chiller’s digital controls are said to be easily integrated with building automation systems using BACnet, LonMark or Modbus protocols. Control strategies include automatic control of chiller-water and condenser-water pumps, control of up to four stages of tower fans and modulation of tower fan or bypass valve. www.mcquay.com

Variable refrigerant flow zoning system is a two-pipe system that cools and heats simultaneously, said to be the first commercially available in the United States. At the heart of the system is an inverter technology that relies on a variable-speed compressor to deliver precise amounts of heating or cooling to individual zones. The system is fully integrated using direct-digital control to tie together an outdoor unit with branch circuit controller, indoor units and remote and central controllers. Two outdoor models are offered: 80,000-BTU/h with up to 15 connectable indoor units; and 100,000-BTU/h with 16 connectable indoor units. Three different indoor models are offered. Both systems can be either ducted or ductless.
Individual zone control is made possible through an assortment of remote controllers. Multiple systems can be controlled and monitored by tying them together with a centralized controller to link together as many as 2,000 units. www.mrslim.com
