The International Code Council (ICC) reports that it has approved the National Green Building Standard, or ICC-700 . The new standard guides building practices for new and renovated residential construction, covering everything from single-family to high-rise buildings. It is the first and, to date, the only green standard that is consistent and coordinated with the Code Council’s family of I-Codes and standards.

ICC currently offers training on ICC-700 already is available, including a special session March 23-26 at its Codes Forum in New Orleans; the group also offers training on related practices, such as current green-building practices, LEED overviews, and development of local green-building ordinances.
