Flow controller improves the efficiency of compressed-air systems by up to 60 percent by regulating the rate of airflow from the supply side to only the quantity of air demanded. Controller works with an energy storage tank and isolates the demand side of the system.

Flow controller improves the efficiency of compressed-air systems by up to 60 percent by regulating the rate of airflow from the supply side to only the quantity of air demanded. Controller works with an energy storage tank and isolates the demand side of the system. Once the demand for treated compressed air is met, the compressor runs at a constant speed, charging the storage tank and shutting off when a predetermined high-pressure limit is reached. When the low-pressure point is reached on the supply side, the compressor comes back on to supply the demand side from the storage tank. Demand-side air volume is constantly adjusted to maintain constant pressure. The device also allows the system to respond to transient high-volume demands without additional compressor loading.
