Great to be back
Welcome back! If you missed us over the past two months, it’s because we’ve been digging deep to make the new Consulting-Specifying Engineer better than ever. This publication has been given a new life, and we’re happy to be back. Here’s a brief recap of what we’ve been up to:
In April, our previous publishing firm, Reed Business Information, shut its doors, and closed more than 20 magazines. Our publisher and founders purchased Consulting-Specifying Engineer and two sister publications, Plant Engineering and Control Engineering. The new firm, CFE Media (Content for Engineers), launched just two weeks later.
CFE Media was started with one thing in mind: providing print, online, and in-person content for engineers from all backgrounds. Our goal is to meet the needs of engineers in varying jobs: from the plant floor manager to the system integration specialist to the HVAC engineer. We’re ideally suited to help your career grow.
This budding media firm is just what Consulting-Specifying Engineer needed: a new focus to better support the engineering community. We can now offer you better, more targeted content online and in print. The seasoned editorial team you’ve come to know and love—Patrick Lynch and Amara Rozgus— will continue to find you the best content. Michael Ivanovich, the previous chief editor, will continue with us as a consultant, ensuring we keep on top of the engineering community’s needs via webinars and articles. And our committed editorial advisory board and other consultants will keep us at the leading edge of engineering.
All of this change really digs down to one simple thing: We can better serve our audience. We can provide you with more information, helping you work faster and smarter. We can offer you with more material from more manufacturers and other sources. We also can meet your online and rich content needs—video, webinars, social media, and apps—at www.csemag.com.
These changes are part of the typical magazine turnover, much like any other business evolution. Prior to our Reed owners, we were with Cahners Publishing. Before that, Consulting Specifying Engineer was actually two magazines: Consulting Engineer and Actual Specifying Engineer.
The economy may have its ups and downs much like your own business, but great products and services will rise above the fray and stay ahead of the curve. We’ve been around in some form for more than 60 years. I predict that the high-quality engineering content you demand will continue to flourish under our new owners.
