This 24-volt, 0.22-watt adjustment motor, which also offers design advantages for many different kinds of industrial applications, is one of several different 12V – 24 V dc electric motors with gear boxes that are featured in the Bosch VMC motor family.

The Bosch “VMC” dc electric motor with potentiometer features a space-saving compact design and weighs approximately 0.12 kg, allowing for easy installation into cabinet-style egg incubators and other industrial systems and equipment. The potentiometer, which is included with this model of Bosch VMC motor, is vital for incubator applications because it triggers the on/off electrical circuit for the incubator’s timed rotating mechanism.

Hatching eggs (fertile eggs) are rotated in large incubators to mimic the manner by which chickens and other fowl naturally, and frequently, turn over their “laid” eggs during that period when they sit on them (thereby incubating the eggs) and wait for their chicks to hatch. Hatching eggs must be rotated a few times throughout the day to ensure that the embryos do not stick to the interior walls of the eggs; otherwise the embryos will fail to develop.
