Chicago’s Sears Tower may soon get a face lift. The owners of the tower are considering painting it silver instead of leaving it a classic black.

Painting it a lighter, reflective color may help with energy efficiency, helping the 36-year-old building obtain U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver status (no pun intended).

Chicago is bidding for the 2016 Olympic Games , and the city’s downtown area would be greatly affected by new and renovated buildings planned for use in these games and the related business.

A local radio station is holding a contest to determine what color or theme the Sears Tower should be.
