Despite a current state of fiscal conservation , more than half of natural gas companies plan to construct new facilities in 2003, according to a recent study conducted by Basic Systems, a consulting engineering firm specializing in design and automation work for the natural gas industry.

High-powered ultrasound , currently used for cell disruption, particle size reduction, welding and vaporization, was determined to be 99.99% effective in killing bacterial spores after just 30 seconds of non-contact exposure, according to experiments conducted by researchers at Penn State and Ultran Labs, Boalsburg, Pa. The experiments are the first to show that non-contact ultrasound (NCU) can deactivate bacterial spores.
