The new organization will provide services from its home in Birmingham, Ala. The 49th annual ASIS security industry tradeshow, which took place in September in New Orleans, attracted a record 812 exhibitors, up from 725 at last year's show.

After nearly 10 years of collaboration, the principals of Albert Kahn Associates, Inc., and SRW and Associates, Inc., have joined forces to create Kahn South. The new organization will provide services from its home in Birmingham, Ala.

The 49th annual ASIS security industry tradeshow, which took place in September in New Orleans, attracted a record 812 exhibitors, up from 725 at last year's show. Overall attendance at the event was 17,264.

After 60 days of Phase I testing, engineers at the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake, Calif., and at Proton Energy Systems, Wallingford, Conn., are closer to their goal of creating a long-term, low-maintenance, grid-independent and renewably-fueled power system.

The National Fire Protection Assn., last month, opened a new office in Sacramento, Calif. NFPA staff at the new office will help make state-specific amendments to NFPA's model building and fire codes, as well as provide technical and clerical support throughout California's code amendment process.
