By Consulting Specifying Engineer Staff January 31, 2005

The party has already started, but it’s far from over. This year marks the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ 125thanniversary, and the organization has planned a series of events and activities throughout the year to commemorate its heritage and contributions to the mechanical engineering profession.

The society will observe its Founder’s Day on February 16, as well as several other milestone events, including Engineers week (Feb. 20-26); Boiler Code Day (March 12); and Heritage Day (April 7) activities at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N.J., the site of ASME’s organizational meeting. The society will also observe World Standards Day in October and will celebrate an anniversary finale at the 2005 ASME Congress and Exposition in Orlando, Fla. in November.
