The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), Arlington, Va., has announced the winners of its inaugural Standards Achievement Awardd:

Larry Howington, director of engineering at Hill PHOENIX, Conyers, Ga., serves as chairman of the CRMD Engineering Committee and was recognized for guiding ARI's Commercial Refrigeration Manufacturers Division (CRMD) Engineering Committee through important milestones in the development of ARI Standard 1200.

Gary Kaiser, advisory engineer at Standard Refrigeration Company, Melrose Park, Ill., is immediate past chairman of ARI's General Standard Committee (GSC). He received the award for his leadership in maintaining the accuracy, completeness and quality of ARI standards.

Gerald Peck, who is product development researcher at Lennox International Inc., Carrollton, Texas, received the award for leading the development of the first known U.S.-Canadian standard.

Bill Walter, manager of industry relations at Carrier Corp., Syracuse, N.Y., is a member of ARI's GSC and chair of ARI's Code Interaction Subcommittee. He received the award for his dedication as an international leader in the advancement of industry standards that have benefited the industry and consumers alike.
