The data center, which is expected to take up 500,000 sq ft, will have approximately 50 full-time employees. Ground breaking is scheduled for August, with the first center employees beginning work toward the end of 2010. The Maiden facility will be the first East coast location for Apple, which is based in Cupertino, Calif.
