AGC Happy to See Increase in Federal Construction for 2006

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) earlier this month praised the U.S. House of Representatives for passage of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill. The House completed work on all 11 FY 2006 appropriations measures, which propose to increase overall spending for construction programs by more than 7% over FY 2005 levels.

The House passed spending increases on programs vital to the construction industry including federal highways, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Dept. of Defense military construction. AGC looks forward to the Senate completing its work on its spending bills and hopes to see Congress finalize the FY 2006 appropriations process before the September 30, 2005 deadline.
