Lenahan has worked in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry for 10 years. He has quickly grown in his leadership position at DLR Group and is responsible for operations of the engineering department in the California region. As one of the firm’s engineering leads, Lenahan directs a multidisciplinary team of building analysts and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers by embracing a research-based and results-oriented approach. He is proficient in seismic design, building codes and design practices, reinforced concrete design, steel design, and seismic mitigation strategies for existing buildings. His goal is to provide engineering expertise for his clients throughout the full design of a building—from planning and concept design through construction administration and closeout. Lenahan’s expertise spans many different project types and sectors including arts and culture, aviation, hospitality, justice and civic, and education. Lenahan’s passion for teaching and educating is not limited to his peers at DLR Group. He gives back to the community through his involvement with outreach programs, such as the UCLA Alumni Mentorship Program. His professional affiliation with the Structural Engineers Association of California and the American Society of Civil Engineers positions him at the forefront of industry standards and gives him insight into upcoming trends. He enjoys playing all types of sports, but his favorites are soccer and softball. He currently plays in two adult soccer recreational leagues including indoor and outdoor soccer. He started the DLR Group softball team in the Los Angeles office and continues his softball career with the Sacramento team. In his spare time, Nolan enjoys traveling and experiencing new places.
