Principal, Program Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Pond & Co., Norcross, Ga.

BS Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology

After earning a mechanical engineering degree, Fragulis worked as a project engineer with Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP in Atlanta until joining Pond & Co., Norcross, Ga., as a mechanical engineer in 2008. However, he soon found his niche as an accomplished project manager. Specializing in facility assessment, energy audits, renovation, mechanical system replacement, and preventive maintenance projects, he focuses on improving building occupant comfort and maintainability of building systems. His firm named him "Employee of the Year" in 2013 and nominated him as its "Top Young Engineer" for the Atlanta chapter of American Society of Civil Engineering Companies in 2012. Fragulis has also earned Pond’s Project Manager of the Year award in 2013. Since 2011, he has actively worked with the Atlanta chapter of Engineers Without Borders. From 2013 to 2015, he served as the group’s vice president. He is most proud of his work as project manager designing a solar energy project for an orphanage in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. As parents of three girls, Fragulis and his wife Elizabeth-who works as an elementary school teacher-recognize the importance of getting children excited about engineering at an early age. To this end, he attends career fairs at local elementary schools to promote STEM education. He values the time he spends with his family. While his three daughters keep him busy, he enjoys finding time to run and play soccer. He is a triathlete and is training to run the Atlanta half-marathon. Taking trips with friends to ski or fish is a highlight for him. He particularly enjoys fly fishing for trout in Montana and skiing in Park City, Utah.
