Keith S. Butler, LEED AP, 29 Practice and Office Leader, Aon Fire Protection Engineering Corp., Houston BS Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Oklahoma State University

Growing up in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Butler became interested in fire protection. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Cherokee County, Ga., Fire Department for 11 years. He enrolled in the fire protection and safety engineering technology degree program at Oklahoma State University (OSU) after graduating from high school. Butler also co-taught OSU’s hazardous materials incident management course. After graduating from OSU in 2008, he began his career as a consultant with Aon FPE. In 2010, he accepted a position as business development coordinator for Aon. Then, in 2014, he was promoted to practice and office leader at Aon, focusing specifically on the company’s energy risk engineering group within the fire protection division. Butler currently is responsible for coordinating personnel and implementing strategies to further the company’s growth in the energy and heavy industrial markets. In addition to his management responsibilities, Butler serves as chair of the document protocol management committee, where he leads a team of Aon staff members across multiple business units to create and implement a management program for the company’s electronically archived documents in conjunction with corporate branding unification efforts. Despite staying busy professionally, Butler also has continued to be involved with his local community, including volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He has also been able to share his passion for volunteerism with his Aon colleagues, coordinating local community outreach efforts as a part of Aon’s annual Global Service Day. When he’s not working, Butler enjoys hunting and fishing, water and snow skiing, and traveling.
