Only 3 years after graduating from The Catholic University of America, Rosette Gianniotis managed to work her way up the ladder, becoming one of the youngest assistant CAD managers at Alphatec pc. As a project HVAC and plumbing engineer in training, Gianniotis performs HVAC and plumbing load calculations along with energy calculations under ASHRAE, IPC, and U.S. Green Building Council LEED guidelines. As assistant CAD manager, Gianniotis supervises CAD technicians and coordinates projects. In 2013, Gianniotis was the U.S. Green Building Council LEED project team manager for the Emergency Services Center in Fort Detrick, Frederick, Md. The $16.6 million award-winning project is located on a 42,000-sq-ft campus that includes a fire station, police enforcement space, and administrative support area with training classrooms. Gianniotis is credited as LEED project team manager for coordinating all disciplinal LEED credits for the Fort Detrick submission. Gianniotis also finalized all energy calculations for the facility to reach LEED Silver certification, including compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and ASHRAE codes and standards. During Gianniotis’ time in graduate school, she presented and spoke on topics such as the capstone micro turbine implementation and the decision implementation process. Gianniotis’ Greek heritage also has played a part in her professional development as she comes from a large background of engineers and architects. Gianniotis is currently training to run all aspects of an engineering firm as a future principal for her family’s firm, which was established by her grandfather in 1969. Gianniotis enjoys spending time with her family and is planning for her wedding in October. Some of her favorite pastimes include yoga, surfing, and deep-sea fishing.
