For Khris House, work is not just a “job,” but something that he truly enjoys. Having spent more than 12 years designing electrical systems for medical facilities, schools, churches, office buildings, data centers, and retail spaces, his experience spans coordinating a building’s electrical, mechanical, and plumbing design requirements with innovative architectural design. At Smith Seckman Reid, House contributed to the Memorial Hermann Southwest Professional Office Building in Houston, featuring a 90,000-sq-ft shell floor with a base-building infrastructure, lobby, offices, mail room, fire pump room, and generator building. In addition, he contributed to the 500,000-sq-ft renovation of the existing fire alarm system at the Ben Taub General Hospital Fire Alarm Renovation in Houston. House’s experience in the complicated field of health care, data center, and laboratory design impressed ccrd, a firm for which he has worked for 2 years. Since working in the industry, House puts his engineering expertise to use beyond his traditional work environment. As a deacon at his church, he served on several mission trips to Sudan and Columbia, where he helped build structures to support a local communication system. Through House’s involvement at church, he met his fiancée, Gina, whose twin sister is engaged to his current roommate. The four of them are scheduled to have a double wedding in October.
