As TLC’s youngest director, Jason Heffelmire uses his education and experience to successfully manage the company’s Gulf Coast Operations. He grew up assisting his father’s mechanical contracting firm and helped to diversify through the economic downturn by creating a service business unit. Throughout his 17-year career, Heffelmire has engineered and contracted many high-profile projects and managed numerous talented teams. Some of his more recent projects include Florida Polytechnic University’s Innovation, Science, & Technology Building designed by Santiago Calatrava; Streamsong Golf Resort and Spa built on reclaimed land from mining operations in central Florida; a downtown high-rise residence tower for the University of Tampa; and a mission critical data center in Colorado for a Florida-based financial institution. He began applying his determination to the field of engineering as an intern for Honeywell International in its military avionics division. Following graduation, he joined URS Corp., obtaining his professional engineer and mechanical contracting licenses. He decided to further his education by receiving an MBA from the University of Tampa. When he’s not working, Heffelmire is on the board of advisors to the University of South Florida’s engineering department and on the board of fellows at the University of Tampa. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Michaelann, and their 10-month-old son, Grayson.
