Adam Forni, PE, 31

Senior Associate, Linwood Engineering, Costa Mesa, Calif.

Valparaiso University, BS Mechanical Engineering

Adam Forni’s management skills, knowledge of economics, and engineering expertise make him an indispensable resource and employee at Linwood Engineering. When the company needed an electrical engineer, Forni used his skills in the stormwater and plumbing industries to train himself, eventually becoming a licensed electrical engineer in multiple states. He serves as the senior liaison for high-profile clients including several major developers and Fortune 500 companies, and oversees more than $100 million of construction projects annually. In one of his most notable projects, Forni led mechanical, electrical, and plumbing efforts in the multi-year renovation of a half-mile steel roller coaster at California’s most historic theme park. Forni’s ambition to approach the engineering field with a fresh perspective led him to pursue an advanced degree. In June 2013, he will complete his MBA with honors at the University of California at Irvine. He plans to use his advanced degree and knowledge of sustainability issues facing the construction industry in his position as a consulting engineer. He drafts CSI specifications, estimates costs, and performs engineering economics studies. Outside of work, he helped establish the Timothy R. Hatch Foundation, a non-profit scholarship and guidance organization for students studying engineering. Forni calls himself a foodie whose quest to find hole-in-the-wall Thai food restaurants with his girlfriend has taken him all over the world.
