She is responsible for DLR Group’s sustainable initiatives, and she focuses on the importance of integrated design as a way to establish a truly holistic building that addresses short- and long-term programmatic, operational, and maintenance issues. Laue was a key member of the interdisciplinary team that crafted DLR Group’s design process changes, metrics, and action plans for the firm’s formal 2030 architectural commitments. She was the driving force behind the creation of the DLR Group Green Team, which champions sustainable design and coordinates interaction with local U.S. Green Building Council chapters and the LEED process. She has the unusual ability to translate complicated scientific ideas into a form that is understandable by both engineers and laypersons alike, and she speaks as an expert on sustainable design around the country.
