Josh R. Greenfield, PE, LEED AP, BEMP, 32

Associate Vice President, Energy Services Manager, Primera Engineers, Chicago

Washington University, St. Louis, BS Mechanical Engineering

Greenfield’s accomplishments in sustainable design and construction have been instrumental to Primera’s success. He is an expert in the U.S. Green Building Council LEED principles and rating system, energy modeling and lifecycle cost analysis for energy-efficiency measures, the development of green construction codes, and developing others through training and collaboration. As a leader at the firm, he has demonstrated his talents by creating a “Green Team.” Greenfield works with both architects and engineers and has been a key player in their professional development as it relates to sustainability. His ability to collaborate successfully and seamlessly while working with in-house staff, outside consultants, architects, engineers, and owners has made him a trusted leader at Primera. His challenging and forward-thinking projects include LEED Gold renovations of the City of Chicago’s Household Materials Collection Center and skyscrapers seeking LEED certification in Mexico City. Also, Greenfield recently served on the code drafting committee for the International Green Construction Code, which was released in March. Even with his busy schedule, he finds time to travel. During the summer months, you can catch Greenfield in the bleachers at the Chicago Cubs’ Wrigley Field or in the grassy lawn at outdoor concert venue Ravinia. He is always trying out the best restaurants and beers Chicago has to offer. He attends many independent movie screenings, and is an avid photographer.
