Arora has had a hand in almost every aspect of the design and construction industry: He has experience as an owner, contractor, integrator, manufacturer, and consulting engineer. As executive vice president of Arora Engineers, he is responsible for general administration and engineering management, and he directs the fire and life safety services division. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for ADT Security Services, a division of Tyco Fire and Security. Because of his range of perspective and technical expertise, he was selected as a member of Underwriters Laboratories standards technical panel to write a new standard for mass notification systems. Arora prides himself on his work as a project manager. He has served in this role for high-profile clients such as the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was the project manager for the upgrade of the existing fire standpipe system at New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The original system was built in 1911, and so the age, complexity, and historic nature of the famous transportation facility made this a challenging job. Arora continues to give back to the engineering community by mentoring student engineers and conducting an annual fire alarm design seminar at his alma mater. As a supervisor, Arora believes in a collaborative management style and a positive work-life balance. He is involved with the Liberty USO of Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, and he has organized an annual golf outing for three years; in 2010, the event raised $40,000. When he’s not at work or volunteering, Arora explores Manhattan’s fine dining establishments with his wife Aditi. He is a wine connoisseur, guitar student, and die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. The couple has traveled the world from Denmark to Thailand, but Arora maintains that when it comes time for football, there’s no place like home.
