The Construction Forecast Webcast Series is a unique online event delivering the most up-to-date information on current construction activity and a clear forecast of the construction industry in 2009 and beyond. Jim Haughey and Alex Carrick, Reed Construction Data’s chief economists, will lead the discussion of residential and nonresidential construction activity including the institutional, commercial, industrial and heavy engineering sectors.

Jim has over thirty years experience as a business economist, including twenty years monitoring the construction market. He has previously worked in government, corporate and consulting roles and has taught at the University of Michigan, Ohio University, Michigan State University and the University of Massachusetts. He has a Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Michigan.

Alex Carrick carried out his undergraduate work at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada), then completed an M. A. in Economics and the first year towards a Doctorate at the University of Toronto. Since 1985, Alex has held the position of Chief Economist with Reed Construction Data’s CanaData, the leading supplier of statistics and forecasting information for the Canadian construction industry. Each fall, he oversees CanaData’s Annual Construction Forecast publication and updates the information throughout the year in the CanaData Forecaster newsletter (monthly).
