Integrating clean architectural styling, robust die-cast aluminum construction and best-in-class optical performance for the most challenging specifications, WAC Lighting will introduce the Plana recessed downlight family at Lightfair International 2012. With hundreds of task specific custom options, this extensive series of architectural grade recessed downlights complements WAC’s Lightfair Innovation Award-winning Paloma family of track luminaires.

The Plana is diminutive and unobtrusive for a clean, architectural look.  Advanced control features a 35-degree adjustable vertical tilt to ensure optimal visual comfort and performance. Plana is designed with an ultra low profile die cast aluminum trim, less than 1/8th of an inch in depth. Plana is available in 2, 4 and 6-inch apertures, and flangeless options are available for the 4” and 6” apertures for a seamless ceiling plane.

Plana provides a broad range of lamping options including energy efficient Xicato “Artist Series” LEDs, which achieve extraordinary high levels of color rendering (CRI), consistent color appearance and perfect uniformity.  Metal Halide, Halogen and PAR lamp options are also available.

Ideal for illuminating high-traffic commercial environments, as well as retail, hospitality and luxury residential, all luminaires operate on 120 or 277-volt systems, are built in WAC’s wholly owned zero landfill manufacturing campus and backed by a five-year warranty.

Crafted of die cast aluminum, Plana housings are engineered with outstanding thermal management characteristics for effective heat dissipation to ensure cool luminaire operation. Rigid construction guarantees precise optical alignment of the lamp, reflector and lens for reliable lighting performance, structural integrity and consistency between luminaires.

Superlative Optics include anodized reflectors that are crafted of 99.7 percent aluminum and pass rigorous testing for optimal photometry. To eliminate glare and render visual comfort with a maximum light output ratio, architectural downlight reflectors offer up to a consistent 35-degree adjustment for a variety of lamps and aperture sizes, an optimal cut-off angle, a deeply regressed lamp position and trims that ensure a tight fit flush to the ceiling, preventing light leaks.

A unique Double Focus feature is implemented with a proprietary elliptical-shaped reflector that enables the usage of smaller sized aperture without compromising fixture efficiency or optical performance.  Double Focus allows for the precise adjustment of beam intensity for accent lighting.
