Video: How to save energy in hotels by using controls

Content Manager Peter Welander talks with John Leslie, who is Manager of Energy and Building Automation Systems at MGM Resorts. While attending the ARC Manufacturing Summit in Orlando, Leslie described how his job involves implementing the latest energy-saving technologies for building automation systems at the MGM Resorts properties.

Leslie dispels the myth that 80% of power bills revolve around lighting in Las Vegas; instead, he says the percentage is closer to 30%. Leslie says that central plant operations such as heating and cooling water and air conditioning account for 40-60% of the power bill in Las Vegas.
