e 550 kW prime-rated mobile generator set from MTU Onsite Energy is designed for application flexibility and is powered by the MTU 12V Series 1600 engine. The containerized unit is sound-attenuated and is intended for applications involving mobile emergency power or rental power. The unit comes with digital controls and a 24-hr internal fuel tank. The generator can operate at 100%-rated load over 24 hrs; typical generator sets are rated to 75%. The product also features switchable 50/60 Hz frequency and switchable voltage settings from 208 to 480 V in the 60 Hz mode.
