International design firm Stantec (Edmonton, Canada) announced two buildings-focused acquisitions this week. Stantec acquired the assets of IBE (Sherman Oaks, CA) a 50-person buildings engineering firm that specializes in high-performance, sustainable design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Stantec also acquired AP/ID (Vancouver, Canada), a 20 year old provider of interior design services to a variety of corporate clients. Link to details

Engineering and environmental firm, Partner Engineering and Science (Torrance, CA) has acquired the assets of engineering firm Birdsall Services Group (Eatontown, NJ) out of bankruptcy.
