Weekly merger, acquisition, deal update: December 28

This week Morrissey Goodale tracked one domestic deal, bringing the total year-to-date deal count in the United States to 179, up 3% over the 174 domestic deals tracked through the same period in 2011. Including the U.S., the total global deal count is now 312, down 6% from the 331 global deals tracked through the same period last year.

In an interesting deal closing earlier this year, leading international water and wastewater treatment, environmental engineering and construction services firm MWH Global (Broomfield, CO) added financial consulting capability for water and wastewater clients by acquiring StepWise Utility Advisors (Englewood, CO), a financial management consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater utilities.  StepWise Utility Advisors serves clients throughout the U.S. and Canada and features services that include financial planning and analysis, cost-of-service allocations, rate design, management consulting and utility valuation. Link to details
