Balance, quality level standard for fans approved

The ANSI/AMCA document "Balance Quality and Vibration Levels for Fans" has been reaffirmed as standard.

04/23/2012

Air Movement and Control Association International Inc. (AMCA International) has announced that the Board of Standards Review of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved the reaffirmation of ANSI/AMCA Standard 204-05(R2012), “Balance Quality and Vibration Levels for Fans.” This standard addresses the subjects of fan balance and vibration.

This standard may be used to define appropriate fan balance quality and operating vibration levels to individuals who specify, manufacture, use, and maintain fans.

AMCA International is accredited by ANSI as a standards developer using the “canvass” method. The canvass method provides and promotes a process that verifies the principles of openness have been followed in the approval procedure.  It also ensures that a consensus of those individuals who are directly and materially affected by the standard(s) has been achieved.
