It is the only displacement unit in the industry to heat as well as cool, and use solar energy as its power source. The new solar Plexicon uses a wireless, energy-harvesting platform to power the auto-changeover action when changing to the cooling or heating mode. The energy harvesting process is achieved using solar light energy including sun and ambient room light. The solar Plexicon is designed to operate with all types of HVAC systems in the market including single duct, dual duct, fan-powered, and DX, thanks to a narrow temperature band for cooling and heating changeover actuation. In addition, the changeover setpoints are adjustable, providing maximum flexibility by allowing the installing contractor to customize the band to fit the type of HVAC system it may be using.
