Nine engineers at TLC Engineering have become LEED APs, KJWW Engineering Consultants acquired EME and more.

Nine engineers at TLC Engineering , Orlando, Fla., have become LEED APs. From the firm’s Ft. Myers, Fla., office: Brett McKinstry, PE , principal and division director; Chris Schanbeck, PE , structural project engineer; and Nicole Crispin, EI , structural graduate engineer. From the Tallahassee, Fla., office: Robert Ricketts, PE , senior electrical engineer; John Fortenberry, PE , mechanical project manager; and Richard Lindburg, PE, electrical project manger; Ryan Fryman, PE; ; and Thomas “Butch” Tucker have become LEED AP certified. Also in the firm, Mark Gelfo, PE, LEED AP, CxA , principal and director of the Jacksonville, Fla., office, has been named to the firm’s board of directors.

KJWW Engineering Consultants , Rock Island, Ill., acquired EME, LLC , an M/E engineering design firm in Chicago. EME’s 58 employees include 30 mechanical engineers and 13 electrical engineers, with 17 registered PEs. KJWW now has 125 Chicago-area employees, which includes 67 at its Naperville, Ill., office.

Craig Deering, LEED AP, AIA , joined the Washington, D.C., office of RTKL , as principal. He joined the firm’s Workplace Studio Group, which focuses on optimizing the value of a facility as a strategic business asset. Prior to joining RTKL, Deering served as an architectural practive leader for Fauthier, Alvarado & Assocs. in Falls Church, Va.

Charles A. McFeaters joined Newcomb & Boyd , Atlanta, as an electrical engineer.

The Twin Cities Business Journal awarded two of Minneapolis-based LHB ’s housing projects the Best in Real Estate Award. E2 CityHomes received the award in the Multifamily For-Sale Development (Small) category and Ripley Gardens received the award for Community Impact.

GlobalOptions Group Inc., New York, announced that its James Lee Witt Assocs . unit will expand its Chicago operations with the addition of Cortez Trotter as vice president and director of the Midwest region. Trotter comes to the firm with more than 30 years of public safety experience with the City of Chicago. He most recently served as the city’s chief emergency officer. Also joining the Chicago office is Vicki Wilson , who will serve as the deputy director for the Midwest Region. She brings more than 25 years of managerial experience to JLWA. Prior to joining the firm, she served as the chief administrative office for Emergency Preparedness in the Mayor’s Office. Edward D. Fry II has joined JLWA as a senior consultant and will work in its Washington, D.C. office as well as support advocacy work in Little Rock, Ark. Fry has served as chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Vic Snyder (D-AR) and has more than 21 years of legislative and advocacy experience.

Integrated Project Services , Lafayette Hill, Pa., hired Greg Kleinert, CQA , as computer systems validation manager, and Andrew DiFelice as senior technical director. Kleinert will manage the CSV product/service line within the IPS Compliance Group. DeFelice will lead the IPS enhanced cleaning validation services group and the company’s IPS expansion into the West coast from its office in Walnut Creek, Calif. Donald J. Potter, RA and James G. Beale also joined the company as senior architect and project manager, respectively. Potter brings more than 30 years of architectural experience as a project lead and corporate architect within the life sciences field to the firm. Beale has more than 18 years of experience in the management and execution of capital engineering and construction projects for clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

K. Brett Malak has been appointed director of Cosentini Lighting Design at Cosentini Assocs. , New York. Malak joined the firm in 2004, and in her new role will oversee the design and management of the firm’s lighting design projects.

AKF Engineers LLP, New York, has opened a full-service office in Boston under the leadership of Brian M. Mulkerrin, P.E., who has more than 15 years of experience; Peter J. Reilly , with 20 years of experience; and Dennis M. Dyer, P.E ., with more than 30 years experience. All three men were formerly associate principals at BR+A.

Philip Michaels, PE, LEED AP , joined Interface Engineering ’s Kirkland, Wash., office as principal. Michaels brings 17 years of experience in client and project management, power systems design, studies and audits, controls design, systems startup and electrical power distribution design to Interface.

Spectrum Engineers Inc ., Salt Lake City, named David E. Wesemann P.E., LEED AP , vice president and full member of the board of directors. Wesemann joined Spectrum Engineers in 1990. The firm also named Lynn J. Langford, CPA , treasurer. Langford remains a full member of the board of directors, and joined the firm in 2003.

R.W. Beck , Seattle, acquired technology and management consulting firm Plexus Research Inc.
