Zachary Schneider, PE, LEED AP, LC, CxA; 35

Partner, Electrical Engineer, CMTA Inc., Louisville, Ky.

BS Electrical Engineering, University of Louisville

Schneider joined CMTA’s Louisville office in August of 2002, and in 2009, the firm asked him to relocate to Houston as one of two people to establish the company’s first office outside Kentucky. During his time there, he helped grow the office from two employees to 14. In 2012, he was named the youngest partner in the firm, also while in Houston. While developing the Houston office, Schneider had to use his engineering skills along with his people skills and marketing efforts to grow the office. Now that it is successfully established, he has begun his transition back to the Louisville office. Due to the client relationships he made in Texas, he will continue to serve as project manager on numerous projects in the area while operating from the Louisville office. Schneider has significant experience in higher education, K-12, and health care. Each year, he volunteers to help with the antique tractor display at his community’s Lanesville (Ind.) Heritage Festival. This event is organized by the Lanesville Heritage Committee, of which Schneider is a member. This committee is dedicated to preserving the ways of the past for future generations to enjoy. He and his wife, Kelly, also raise money and participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes. When Schneider and Kelly returned to Lanesville, Ind., they bought a historic home, and there are always renovation projects to be done. If he isn’t working on their home, you can probably find him at his grandfather’s farm where they store the family’s collection of 100 antique tractors. If he isn’t working on a tractor at the farm, you can find him fishing at the pond with his kids, or sitting in the woods waiting for a deer.
