Jeremy Kelly, PE, LEED AP, CEM, HFDP; 38

Principal, Mechanical Engineer, CMTA Inc., Prospect, Ky.

BS Mechanical Engineering, University of Kentucky, Lexington

Kelly began his career with CMTA consulting engineers in 2002 as a project manager and mechanical design engineer for various health care and K-12 school projects. Because of his health care engineering expertise, in 2007 he was given the opportunity to develop a health care-focused market for a large national energy-service company. He rejoined CMTA in 2012 to develop the CMTA Energy Solutions division, concentrating on performance contracting in the K-12, state government, and health care markets. His vast experience with design, fulfillment, and commissioning of performance contracts makes certain every project is an economical, functional, and sustainable solution that will exceed the customer’s expectations in delivery and performance. Kelly was made a partner in the firm in 2013, and in 2014 he was asked to join the 14-person management team of CMTA, setting the course for CMTA’s strategic growth. He is a member of ASHRAE; American Society of Health Care Engineers; Energy Services Coalition, Kentucky Chapter; and U.S. Green Building Council, Kentucky Chapter. Kelly and his wife, Brooke, are active in several charities including Friends for Michael, which promotes spinal cord research, and Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Every year, he visits rural Henry County Schools, his alma mater, and meets with all 7th- and 8th-grade students to discuss the engineering profession and what his job entails. Kelly and his family enjoy beach trips, sporting events, and spending as much time as they can at his family’s 800-acre farm. Every year, he and his family take a trip to Hilton Head island where they have made a familiar home away from home.
