Krohne’s Optisonic 8300 two-beam ultrasonic flowmeter is capable of handling high flow rates of superheated steam, making it suitable for power plant boiler and plant efficiency monitoring, energy balancing, and inter-company steam billing. Optisonic 8300 features a full bore flow sensor without moving parts or obstructions, and an overall sturdy construction with no cables or sensitive parts exposed. The system is available in various sizes and is suited to high flow rates. The flowmeter is rated for pressure up to 3625 psi and temperature up to 1004°F. Temperature and pressure sensors connected to the device provide the integrated flow computer with data to calculate steam mass flow.
