Smart battery isolator

07/14/2010

The Smart Battery Isolator 48525 and 48530 from Cole Hersee Co. prevents loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery. The product is not specific to an alternator type. Additionally, the battery isolator is smaller, lighter, and generates less heat than competitive products. Because the product reduces charging system workload by not connecting to the auxiliary battery until the primary battery is charged to 13.2 V, there is lower strain on expensive charging components, extending the product life. No diode efficiency losses occur, and it also allows bi-directional charging from alternator or from other power chargers/converters. Easy to install, the smart battery isolator also features an LED status indicator and operational start assist. The product is available in 85 A and 200 A versions.
