The HART Communication Foundation  will host a free one-day event for end users on June 27 (8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) at the Marriott Westchase hotel in Houston, Texas. The event, HART: Benefits Today and Into the Future, includes presentations by end users and suppliers, a panel discussion, three technology workshops, and a networking reception. This event is free for users, but seating is limited and registration is required.

The event features two user presentations that demonstrate the actual cost savings and benefits achieved using HART technology in real-world applications. A presentation by Dow Chemical Company, Delivering Value through an Instrument Reliability Program, will be presented by Christopher Garcia, Instrument and Electrical Technology Leader, and Shadrach Stephens, Electrical Engineer. A presentation by We Energies, Smart Instrumentation-Past, Present and Future, will be presented by Todd Gordon, Computer Instrument Technician Leader.

The speakers will then join Helson and David Eisner, Chief Engineer and Senior Engineering Fellow, Honeywell, in a panel discussion moderated by Harry Forbes, Senior Analyst, ARC Advisory Group.

Event activities continue with three educational technology workshops that include live demonstrations of HART and WirelessHART communication. The workshops conducted by industry experts from major suppliers are: Using the Power of HART Device Diagnostics to Lower Operating Costs and Improve Performance; New Options for HART Data System Integration; and An Introduction and Applications Using WirelessHART Technology.
