Chicago —TeSys D Line ("Telemecanique System"), a new generation of motor starters from Schneider Electric/Square D, was introduced at the NMW show. The new D Line features smaller dc contactors for lower control power (uses less panel space and 75% less power than traditional coils), a mounting/wiring system that cuts panel connection time by 50% without tools, and finger-safe connections that snap into spring terminals. D Line handles motors up to 20 hp at 480 V. A snap-on load termination block eliminates the need to connect motor leads when replacing starters, saving maintenance time and cost.
