Leaders Under 40, Control Engineering class of 2010

Meet the next generation of manufacturing automation and controls leaders. Control Engineering highlights 19 young professionals from around the globe who are making their marks in everything from system design to academia. These leaders aim to inspire others to get involved in engineering and resolve local and global challenges through smarter applications of automation and control technologies.

Control Engineering, Leaders Under 40To help inspiring engineering excellence among youth, Control Engineering recognizes 19 remarkable engineering leaders in its first “40 Under 40” recognition program, announced Nov. 15, 2010, online and in the November 2010 North American edition of Control Engineering.

While we didn’t honor 40 this first time around, we commend all 29 entrants and encourage engineering enthusiasts of all ages to share their wisdom with Control Engineering in other ways at www.controleng.com/awards. We expect nominations to open approximately mid-year for the 2011 program.

We recognize these leaders in engineering (under 40 years old as of Nov. 1, 2010) as having made strong contributions toward the control engineering profession. We hope that highlighting these well-rounded individuals will help interest young people in engineering careers at end-users companies, automation and control vendors, system integrators, automation consultants, and in engineering education. These next-generation leaders show the world what’s fun and worthwhile about engineering.

Students take note: Aside from a love of engineering, these individuals help youth play robotic games, participate in foster parenting and reach out to special-needs children, build projects of all types, repair motorcycles, play hockey, paint, fish, design electric vehicles, generate power with wind, have revelations in ones and zeros, and even partake in a little quantum physics...as a hobby.
