LaPointe named AMCA president
Art LaPointe, vice president and general manager of Construction Specialties Inc. , Cranford, N.J., was elected president of AMCA International at the association's annual meeting held this past September.
LaPointe has been an enthusiastic supporter of AMCA and has helped develop and improve many product performance guidelines and standards; he also has helped further efforts to have AMCA standards written into architectural specifications.
Construction Specialties Inc. has been an AMCA member company for more than 30 years. LaPointe has been involved with AMCA since 1996. He has served as chairman and co-chair of the Air Control division, and as an AMCA Bylaws Task Force member. Additionally, he has been a longtime member of the Statistical Program committee. In the last six years he has served as a member of the AMCA Board of Directors, and more recently as a member of the Executive Board holding the positions of director-at-large, treasurer, and vice president.
