Austin, Tex.— Fisher-Rosemount recently announced the availability of redundant FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 technology in its PlantWeb architecture. A redundant pair of H1 cards, each with its own power source and mounted in a standard DeltaV I/O carrier, ensures continued communications between DeltaV controllers and fieldbus segment devices. Switchover from primary to backup communications is automatic, achieved without loss of segment messaging, and includes operator notification. Replacement of a failed H1 card can be performed on-line without interrupting operations. An online demonstration is available.
