This custom option reduces size, weight, and operating cost versus standard bldc motors, says the manufacturer. Wiring connections are also simplified. Elcom ST produces up to 49 oz-in. continuous torque and can run as fast as 8,000 rpm. It is available in two-wire open-loop speed control version (12-48 V and up to 8 A) or reversible motor version up to 3 A. Closed-loop motor speed control and encoder feedback options can also be included in the motor enclosure.
