Revolution Brewing in Chicago features several energy-efficiency updates in its brewing facility. Courtesy: CFE MediaTate Walker, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, senior project manager from Energy Center of Wisconsin, talks with Amara Rozgus, editor in chief/content manager of Consulting-Specifying Engineer, about the energy-efficient systems Chicago's Revolution Brewing incorporated into its facility.

The owner and design team used incentives and technical assistance from local utility companies (the ComEd and Nicor New Construction Service) to support energy-efficient elements in the lighting design and other aspects of the retrofit.

Revolution Brewery is a new Chicago craft brewery. It's housed in a 43,000-sq-ft renovation of an existing warehouse in the Logan Square neighborhood, and  earned the “Best Chicago Microbrewery” award from Time Out Chicago in 2013. The building includes both a large brewing operation and a tasting taproom.
