ASPE names David Jern as director of affiliate relations

New position created to further strengthen relationships between plumbing engineers and manufacturers.

06/15/2011

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) has announced that David Jern has assumed the role of Director of Affiliate Relations. In this position, Jern will develop and strengthen the relationship between ASPE and its Affiliate Members, or those individual ASPE members who are involved in the production or marketing of plumbing products.

In the current market, it is vital for manufacturers to be in close contact with the engineers who are designing plumbing systems to ensure that they are providing products that meet the needs of today’s building owners, as well as to ensure the continued growth of the construction industry. This new position will encourage and enable the flow of information by offering Affiliate Members even more opportunities to reach out to the engineering community.

ASPE’s Affiliate Members are represented at the local level by Regional Affiliate Liaisons and Chapter Affiliate Liaisons. Jern will be working closely with these individuals as well as ASPE Vice President, Affiliate William (Billy) Smith of Jay R. Smith Manufacturing Co.

Another goal of this new position is to develop new revenue enhancement opportunities for ASPE in the plumbing engineering marketplace, which will rely on building and maintaining strong professional relations with marketing decision-makers.

Jern, who has been Executive Publisher of ASPE’s Plumbing Systems & Design magazine for four years, will maintain those responsibilities in addition to his new role. He will continue managing print and digital advertising sales and ASPE Engineered Plumbing Exposition (EPE) and Technical Symposium Sponsorship Programs.
