Samer Alayyash, CEM, 37

Director of Electrical Division, Consolidated Consultants Group, Amman, Jordan

BS Electrical Engineering, University of Jordan, Amman

MBA, Arab Open University, Amman, Jordan

Alayyash started his career in February 2002 as an electrical engineer at Consolidated Consultants Group in Amman, Jordan, after earning his degree. Within 2 years, he took the lead in providing electrical designs for large education, health care, commercial, roads and tunnel lighting, banking, and wastewater-treatment projects. In 2003, he joined Remal Electric Factory in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, as an electrical sales engineer. Although he worked there only briefly, he made around 13% of the overall factory’s sales. The experience he gained provided valuable exposure to local and international standards. Alayyash rejoined Consolidated Consultants Group in 2004 as an electrical team leader. At that time, he took on the responsibility of managing the electrical design operations and resources within the department, along with participating in recruiting and training new engineers. The company promoted him to senior electrical engineer—head of department, which was a considerable jump for an engineer with 5 years of experience. Then he was named associate in 2008, and in 2014 the board of directors accepted him as a partner. In 2015, he became the youngest director in the company. Currently, Alayyash is responsible for all aspects of electrical, energy, and low-current systems design. Alayyash helps electrical engineers by providing technical information, support, and finding job opportunities through social media. Since 2010, Alayyash has participated in many voluntary committees and groups through the Jordanian Engineers Association to propose and supervise implementation of new procedures, guides, training programs, and regulations. He has given many lectures and presentations at universities about electrical and low-current electrical systems designs. Alayyash and his wife, Lina, have two boys. He enjoys cooking for his family and spending quality time with them on vacations and weekends.
