Low-torque actuators

-- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 4/1/2008

Consider Siemens Building Technologies' OpenAir GQD Series as an energy-efficient actuator. Suitable for commercial dampers, economizer equipment, and VAV installations, these low-torque actuators will return to the fail-safe position upon power failure to protect equipment. The device is designed as a direct-coupled, spring-return electronic actuator for modulating, two position, or floating control of building HVAC dampers. The units are pre-cabled, plenum-rated, and offer a run time under 30 sec. Running from either AC or DC power, GQD Series actuators operate with a DC backup power supply.
