Consulting-Specifying Engineer selected to promote National Conference on Building Commissioning

-- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 1/11/2008 11:16:00 AM

Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine, published by Reed Business Information, was selected by Portland Energy Conservation Inc. (PECI), as a media partner to promote the National Conference on Building Commissioning (NCBC), which will be held at the Marriott Newport Beach Resort and Spa in Newport Beach, Calif., April 22- 24, 2008.

The NCBC is an annual networking, training, and exposition event owned and managed by PECI to promote, educate, and empower the field of commissioning for the buildings industry. In its 16th year of production, the NCBC regularly attracts commissioning providers; mechanical, electrical, and fire-protection engineers; building owners, architects, and governmental and non-governmental institutions.

“There is strong growth in commissioning services offered by engineering firms, which can be linked to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED rating system.  Because the NCBC is the premier commissioning event in the United States, this is an excellent opportunity for CSE to serve its readers and the industry,” said Michael Ivanovich, editor-in-chief.

Phil Welker, Executive Director of PECI, notes “NCBC is a tremendous training and networking platform for engineers and specialists in the commissioning industry – it’s been a trusted resource since the profession became formalized. Interest among owners is growing because of green buildings, utility rebates for energy savings, and greater quality assurance.”

For more information on the conference, visit www.peci.org/ncbc.

Consulting-Specifying Engineer is a monthly magazine published by Reed Business Information with a BPA-audited circulation of over 46,000 mechanical and electrical engineers. It covers mechanical, electrical, and fire/life-safety engineering for commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and high-tech buildings.

Portland Energy Conservation Inc. (PECI) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Portland, Ore. Since 1980, PECI has been designing and implementing solutions to satisfy the energy efficiency needs of the residential and commercial markets. It has assisted organizations such as the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, the Energy Trust of Oregon, and the California Energy Commission in promoting energy-efficient practices and technologies that benefit both businesses and individual consumers.
