NECA Launching New "Smart Building" Conference
Staff -- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 6/1/2005
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is re-launching its previous VDV Conference as the Conference on Integrated Building Systems (IBS), and will be presenting the event concurrently with its own annual convention and trade show, Sept. 17–20 in New Orleans.
The event is intended for electrical contractors, project managers and estimators working on "smart" buildings, which NECA defines as structures featuring fully integrated power and communication systems designed for maximum energy efficiency. The organization says the conference will familiarize its audience with recent developments in integrated building systems, including new technology, products, specifying formats and how these changes affect all levels of the electrical-contracting professions.
In addition to seminar sessions, attendees also can visit the IBS pavilion, located on the tradeshow floor at the NECA convention, which will spotlight related manufacturers, suppliers and products.
