Security/emergency stations

By Staff -- Consulting-Specifying Engineer, 10/1/2000

Security/emergency stations are specifically designed to withstand weather and vandalism in places where two-way communication is required, such as parking garages, elevators, stairwells, walkways and entry doors. Devices allow easy integration with other security systems, including those for closed-circuit television, access control, alarm and PBX. Options include a built-in strobe controller board to activate a strobe light upon call-in to a master station, "Push for Help" Braille plates and indicator lights to allow the caller to see progress of the call. Large, "mushroom" buttons that can be pushed easily with a shoulder or elbow allow for hands-free communications. (Stento USA) Circle 31
