Bethesda, Md.-based Brivo Systems LLC announced the appointment of two new positions in its sales and engineering departments. Daniel Abernathy has been named director of business development. Abernathy will be responsible for sales in the eastern region of the U.S. and Canada and he has 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Chris Valas will join Brivo in the position of vice president of engineering. Valas has more than 25 years of experience in software development, operations, and management.
Rolling Meadows, Ill.-based Plumbing Manufacturers Institute elected Lee Mercer, director of product compliance for Moen Inc., board president for the 2010 calendar year. Mercer was elected at the 2009 Fall Meeting in Arlington, Va. Other elected members on the 2010 PMI Executive Committee include William Ball, vice president of WCM Industries Inc. as First Vice President; Jack Krecek, vice president and general manager, Commercial Business Unit for Elkay Manufacturing Co. as Second Vice President; Stewart Yang, vice president, engineering, global faucets for Kohler Co. as Treasurer. Newly elected Directors-at-Large include Casey Hayes, director of engineered solutions for Haws Corp. and John Watson, director, technical services for Sloan Valve Co.
Gaithersburg, Md.-based NEBB announced that Stephen Wiggins, associate partner, Newcomb 7 Boyd, Atlanta, was elected President of NEB at the 2009 Annual Meeting and Educational Conference in Oklahoma City.
